– Wool

Wool is a very soft and versatile natural fiber of animal origin. Wool can regulate and balance temperature, providing the ideal sleeping environment - it is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Wool

100% biodegradable

Wool’s microscopic pores respond effectively to changes in the humidity level. Thus, it prevents the growth and reproduction of bacteria and dust mites that can trigger allergic reactions.

As a natural fiber, wool is 100% biodegradable and environmentally sustainable. It provides performance, comfort, and protection. Wool has good elasticity and strength.

Wool

Wool is not only the term used to describe the textile fiber, it is also the name used to describe the type of hair that forms the protective covering of animals such as sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, and camels, among others. However, Wool is more associated with sheep’s hair, as the best quality of this fiber comes from merino sheep.

The hairs that make wool grow from the animal’s epidermis are mostly short, fine, and wavy, and it is these characteristics that define the quality of each type of wool.

The wool fiber is curly and can return to its original length after being compressed or stretched, ensuring textile properties such as stability of shape and difficulty of wrinkling.

Production Process

For the production of yarn or fabric, wool is a fiber that easily absorbs dye, however, it is difficult to subject it to dyeing processes as these alter the physical properties of the fiber.

Nowadays, the production process of this fiber is more environmentally and socially responsible, increasing its value. In addition, nowadays there is ecological wool, since, unlike traditional methods, it does not use chlorine to bleach the fiber, but plants that naturally dye the raw material.

Finally, it should be noted that there is no need to harm or sacrifice animals to obtain wool.
